Players act as newcomers at the royal court, seeking to earn positions by courting prominent figures such as the King, Queen, Cardinal and other court officials. Gameplay centers on hand management and a hidden-majority mechanism: players play cards to influence characters and vie for their favour while keeping control uncertain until scoring. Strategic timing and card placement determine who gains influence over each courtier and which players win the most prestigious appointments.
