7 Wonders (Second Edition)

Players guide a civilization through three successive Ages by drafting cards from a shared hand and playing them to develop a city and build stages of a Wonder. Cards represent resources, civil buildings, commercial structures, military units, scientific sets, and guilds; players pay for or chain builds, manage resources and coin, and resolve military conflicts with adjacent players at the end of each Age. After three Ages, players score victory points from constructed buildings, completed wonder stages, military results, science sets, guilds and remaining coins; the highest total wins.

Regelvragen

Beantwoord vanuit het spelregelboek door de regelassistent van Ludoya.

When I build a Wonder stage, do I also get to build the card I used?

No. Playing a card lets you take one action: build the card, build one Wonder stage, or sell the card. To build a stage, pay its cost on your Wonder board and tuck the chosen card face down beneath it; the card has no other use (p. 4).

Do I spend or exhaust my resources after using them to build?

No. Resources are not lost and can be used on every turn, but each resource symbol your City produces can be used only once per turn (p. 6).

How much does it cost to buy a resource from a neighbor, and can they still use it?

Pay 2 Coins for each resource bought. Your neighbor keeps the card and can still use that resource; each symbol can be bought only once per turn by you, and the Coins must be available at the beginning of the turn (pp. 6–7).

Do I get Coins for the card I discard on the last turn of an Age?

No. On the sixth turn, choose one of the two cards you receive to play and discard the other face down; that discarded card gives you no Coins. Selling a card on a normal turn earns 3 Coins (pp. 4–5).

Who do I compare military strength with, and what happens if we tie?

At the end of each Age, compare your strength separately with each neighbor. A tie gives neither player a token; the weaker player takes a Defeat token, while the stronger player takes that Age’s Victory token (worth 1, 3, or 5 points for Ages I, II, or III) (p. 5).

How do science symbols score at the end?

Score identical symbols by type using the table—for example, two matching symbols are worth 4 points and three are worth 9. Also score 7 points for each complete set of all three different symbols; add these scores together (p. 8).
