7 Wonders

Players lead one of seven ancient cities, gathering resources, developing commerce, and expanding military and civic infrastructure while constructing a multi-stage architectural wonder. The game plays over three ages. Each age players draft cards from a hand, play them immediately to pay for resources, gain commerce effects, boost military strength, or score victory points, then pass the remaining cards to a neighbor. Individual city boards (double-sided) grant starting powers and space to build stages of the wonder. Military conflicts with adjacent players resolve at the end of each age, and scoring tallies points from cards, wonder stages, and other bonuses to determine the winner.

Very good game as step before playing an strategic eurogame. You need to choose an strategy and focus on it, but several factors are giving you victory points. On advanced levels, it can be a quick game with almost zero AP.

Regelvragen

Beantwoord vanuit het spelregelboek door de regelassistent van Ludoya.

Do I spend resources when I build a card, and can I use them again later?

You don’t spend resources: your production remains available every turn. Resources bought from neighbors can only be used on the turn you buy them. (Rulebook, p. 4)

Can I buy resources from both neighbors, and how much does it cost?

Yes. Each resource bought from either neighbor normally costs 2 coins, and you can buy from both in the same turn; you must already have those coins at the start of the turn. (Rulebook, p. 4)

When I build a Wonder stage, do I have to use the card’s cost or the Wonder’s cost?

Pay the cost shown for the stage on your Wonder board. The card you use as a marker is placed face down under the board and has no other effect. (Rulebook, p. 5)

Do we resolve turns one at a time, and which way do the hands go?

Players choose a card and take their actions simultaneously. Pass hands left in Ages I and III, and right in Age II. (Rulebook, p. 5)

On the last turn of an Age, do I get 3 coins for the card I don’t play?

No. You choose one of the two cards to play, and the other is discarded without earning coins. (Rulebook, p. 5)

How do science symbols score—do I count sets of identical symbols and different ones separately?

Yes: identical symbols score their count squared for each symbol family, and each complete set of all three different symbols scores 7 points. Add both scores together. (Rulebook, p. 6)
