This dark fantasy setting follows the invasion of Tarth by mysterious, bloodthirsty Masters. The campaign begins in a familiar world of elves, dwarves, orcs, and humans, then leads through the spread of darkness and horror to a bloody conclusion. Player characters start as Novices and develop into heroic adventurers through a complete scripted campaign. The book adds new Edges and Hindrances, supernatural powers, spells, weapons, magical items, and rules for creating and advancing a group of heroes. Game Masters also receive new monsters, adventure generators, the secrets of Tarth’s past, and guidance for using the setting in a conventional fantasy campaign before the invasion.
