Rex: Final Days of an Empire

In the dying days of an imperial reign, rival interstellar factions compete to control key districts within a vast, continent-sized city. Players command asymmetrical civilizations, marshal troops, and deploy leaders with differing abilities while negotiating, forming alliances, and betraying one another. Influence is gathered from held areas and spent to smuggle forces past an orbital blockade; military contests resolve when opposing forces meet and depend on committed troops and leader strength, with the possibility of secret traitors among commanders. A moving Sol fleet periodically bombards the map, forcing players to seek shielded locations or suffer devastation. Games mix diplomacy, tactical combat, hidden information, and variable faction powers for different strategic paths.

17 Don't think I will ever get 5-6 people to play a maybe 3-5 hours long game?! Blind bidding for strategy cards? And other random and take that stuff and I came to the conclusion that I would not enjoy such things.

Joc de negociació i combat amb aliances entre jugadors que permeten guanyar en grup. És gairebé obligatori jugar 6 i prohibir les aliances de 3. És un joc bastant tàctic, t'has d'anar adaptant al que va succeint al taulell, i cada torn passen moltes coses... El sistema de combat és com una especie de"pedra, paper, tissora" hipervitaminat. Tot i que no té massa a veure en mecàniques, a mi l'experiencia de joc em recorda a un Cosmic Encounter amb moltes més regles i sense tant caos.
