Weimar: The Fight for Democracy

Players represent rival political movements in Germany’s early republic, each pursuing different goals from defending democratic institutions to overthrowing them. The game uses cards to resolve public-opinion battles over issues like the economy, media, and foreign affairs, while simultaneously staging street actions and positioning supporters in major cities for demonstrations and clashes. Play proceeds over six turns; each turn a party selects an agenda that shapes its strategy by altering its deck, defining contested issues, or granting street advantages. Victory conditions and scoring are asymmetrical: democratic factions gain points for stabilization and social reforms, while anti-democratic forces score for unrest, coups, and revolutionary outcomes.
