HEXplore It: The Valley of the Dead King

Los jugadores se unen como héroes personalizables en un reino de fantasía, combinando un Rol (profesión) y una Raza (herencia) para definir fortalezas, debilidades y habilidades especiales. Los héroes llevan un registro de sus estadísticas con marcadores borrables y progresan mediante misiones, batallas y exploración por un mapa hexagonal. Viaja entre ciudades, santuarios y ruinas para conseguir mejoras, completar objetivos y luchar contra oponentes variados mientras evitas peligros. Un antagonista inminente avanza por el mapa, destruyendo ciudades y volviéndose más fuerte a medida que avanza la partida. El objetivo es mejorar a los héroes lo bastante rápido como para enfrentarse a esa amenaza final y derrotarla.

    This game brings RPG combat to the table like no other. It's a bit dense and long but has beautiful mechanics that can remind to Runebound or other Adventure games. Interesting!

    Element of exploration/discovery, huge number of race/class combos, high replayability, good artwork, adjustable difficulty. It's what I've been looking for for years - the kind of game I would have loved as a kid but has some more depth for now-me.
