Roads & Boats

Players manage a small resource base of animals, boards, stone and basic production sites and expand a logistical network to manufacture increasingly valuable goods. Gameplay centers on moving commodities with transport pieces (donkeys, rafts, trucks, etc.), collecting produced components, and delivering them to facilities to create higher‑value items like metal, coins, or stock certificates. Ownership exists only in what a player carries, while any player may use open production sites or pick up goods left on the board. The map is assembled from modular hex tiles and counters; roads and bridges are drawn on a clear overlay. Scenarios and transportation planning drive the strategic challenge and the race to convert wealth into victory points.

2-3 players - surprisingly even 4-5 is great ! Somehow manages to kick your brain without interruption and maybe harder than any other splotter, because you are constantly in a strategic nightmare decision sandbox. Plus the unexpected harassing keeps you on your heels.

A solid, thinky game, but quite fiddly. For me, it's quite wonderful when implemented as a persisted online game so the fiddliness goes away and you have plenty of time to consider your moves.
