Lunarchitects

Players act as architects designing the first lunar base, competing for building blueprints, astronauts, and construction resources. A shared circular queue of blueprint tiles refills as players move their pawns; the player furthest back in the queue always takes the next action, creating a push-and-pull turn-order mechanic. Blueprints come in four stages with increasing cost and effect, and players place claimed blueprints into personal moonbase layouts. Scoring occurs after each full lap of the queue and after four scoring rounds the game ends. Variable tile setups and selectable scoring schemes change priorities between plays, supporting 1–5 players in about an hour.

This game builds on the game Glen More in interesting ways. You have that circular board, where the player who is behind in the path gets to take the next action. When you take an action, you move your pawn up, take the tile in the space you want, then place the tile in your tableau so that it matches the picture and is next to one of your meeples. Then you get to activate the ability on the tile you placed and all the tiles surrounding it. Four times per game you do a scoring evaluation. One of the nice things about this game is that there are multiple potential scoring criteria that get randomly determined in setup, which already gives this some additional replayability that Glen More was perhaps lacking. Turns are fast and satisfying. The board art is a little rough, but otherwise the components are great. I don't see going back to Glen More after this. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :nostar: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment

A game I enjoyed but just wasn't getting played so it got sold. It had an interested rondell/race mechanic similar to Tokaido.
