Super Dungeon Explore

Uno skirmish nei dungeon che richiama l’estetica dei JRPG a 8 bit attraverso miniature in stile chibi e tessere modulari del tabellone. Da uno a cinque giocatori controllano ciascuno un eroe con una carta personaggio che indica movimento, attacco, armatura, volontà, destrezza, punti azione e cuori; un giocatore assume il ruolo del Consigliere Oscuro e gestisce i mostri del dungeon. Il gioco alterna le attivazioni dei singoli eroi e dei mostri, con un ordine di turno che varia a ogni round. I combattimenti e le prove utilizzano dadi personalizzati che mostrano cuori, pozioni e stelle; gli eroi feriti pescano carte bottino e aprono forzieri per migliorare il proprio equipaggiamento. I mostri ricevono raramente potenziamenti, mentre il Consigliere Oscuro schiera rinforzi dai punti di generazione. Gli eroi vincono sconfiggendo il boss del dungeon evocato; il Consigliere Oscuro vince eliminando tutti gli eroi.

    This is an overlord vs players minis combat game. The board is laid out with monster spawn points that spit a steady stream of bad guys. Players run around smashing the points, leveling up along the way by tucking cards into various sides of their player boards. Eventually the heroes get worn down, and then mini bosses or final bosses spawn and the really tough battle begins. The minis are cute, particularly the monsters. Lots of clever sculpts. The mechanisms are pretty basic. There's nothing that really makes this game stand out from similar games. Being the overlord is a little dull. The process could be automated and it would be a better experience. I would play this more, but nothing is pulling me to. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
