Players evolve small terrestrial arthropods across changing Paleogene-like environments, competing for territory, resources, and victory points. Gameplay uses a streamlined version of a larger ecosystem system: players manage species traits, reproduce and spread across tiles, respond to climate shifts and catastrophes, and exploit resource and oxygen mechanics through card-driven actions. The rule set removes several complex modules from its predecessor to simplify setup and play while preserving core craton, drift, and environmental cycles. Variants allow integration with the larger system’s player roles for mixed games, but the standard play focuses on compact, species-level strategy and adaptation.
