Il Vecchio
Players lead rival Florentine families in 15th-century Tuscany, sending family members to locations to recruit followers (knights, assassins, abbots), collect money, and gain favors from the squirearchy. These resources are used to take control of neighboring provinces for power and bonus actions, or to claim council and nobility positions in Florence by spending scrolls and money. Actions require a middleman at the location plus an active family member; family members can be moved (for a cost), introduced, or refreshed. The game proceeds until a shared pool of crest tiles is exhausted, then players total power from tiles, regional majorities, and Florentine offices for final scoring.

Evan4.6 In this game, you walk your meeples around a board, and take actions to collect resources when they reach a place with one of the middle men pawns. The middle man than moves to his next town on the board in a clockwise fashion. Points are gotten when you exchange your collected resources for placements on city tracks, and then there are majority points for each city. It plays smoothly, on your turn you have meaningful decisions to make, and there is some degree of tension in that you are competing with other players for the earliest and highest value spots. That being said, there's nothing about this game that really makes it stand out from the crowd. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :nostar: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :nostar: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
Pahn5.9 This is a smooth and enjoyable little game that really needs to see more plays.
