Quartermaster General: 1914

A fast-paced grand-strategy game that recreates the European theatre of World War I across 17 rounds or until one side gains a decisive lead. Players command nations using a shared deck of cards that offer two functions: play a card for an immediate action or prepare it for later use. On each turn players may both play and prepare cards, spend cards to draft troops, or use them to attrition opponents, balancing short-term gains against long-term resource depletion. Movement, combat, and strategic timing determine control of key cities; capturing Berlin or Paris early can decide the outcome, but aggressive draws risk leaving forces unsupported late in the war.

Limited range of strategies. If your capital city is conquered (which, if you are playing with the French, it's relatively easy), you're out of the game for quite some time, which is not funny. Playing with two nations also limits your hand management, because one country's cards cannot be used by the other country's troops. This is especially bad for the French player because the Italian cards are few and weak.
