Tainted Grail: Kings of Ruin

Three ruinous kings rule a corrupted borderland as players guide a band of new heroes through a stand-alone story campaign set in the same grimfantasy universe. Players travel across altered Wyrdness terrain, resolve encounters using combat or a unique puzzle-card diplomacy system, and develop characters with passive skills, ability cards, and powerful items. The scenario focuses on uncovering the dark history and machinations of three antagonists who control the ruined region while progressing a self-contained narrative that connects to the wider saga.

Regelspørsmål

Besvart fra regelboka av Ludoyas regelassistent.

When does the Day end and what exactly do we do during End of Day (rest, recover, deck/vision, time)?

Follow the End of Day sequence steps (1–8), which explicitly cover resting/recovering, resolving Time/markers, and handling decks and visions; perform those steps in order each day (see Rulebook p.10 and Day sequence overview p.8).

If my character hits 0 Health or fills their Terror track, are they immediately dead/removed?

Health, Terror and related death/insanity are resolved by the character track rules: reaching 0 Health triggers the death rules and filling Terror triggers insanity effects as specified on the character tracks (see Rulebook p.14).

Can I use an Item card during an Encounter and what happens to it when I use it?

Items are used only as their card text allows during encounters; their gaining, flipping, discarding or removal is handled by the Item rules, and disposal (discard vs remove) follows the discard/remove rules (see Rulebook pp.18 and 15).

Can I just run away from combat without consequence? How does Run Away work?

Running away is a defined encounter outcome and is handled by the Combat rules—you may attempt to Run Away according to the combat sequence, but the encounter is then resolved as an escape or other result as specified (see Rulebook pp.22 and 24–25).

What's the difference between Combat and Diplomacy encounters—do cards and turns work the same?

Combat and Diplomacy use different systems: Combat uses combat cards, charges and the combat turn sequence, while Diplomacy has Duration, Affinity, different card anatomy and a separate turn/resolve procedure; consult the Combat section (pp.22–26) and the Diplomacy section (pp.27–31) for each system's rules.
