In a drought-stricken industrial setting, nations and companies compete to harness river water for hydroelectric energy. Players manage resources, recruit engineers, acquire machinery and patents, and construct dams with storing capacity. They route water through pressure tunnels to feed turbines in their powerhouses and deliver energy to a shared competitive power track while fulfilling individual contracts. Actions use a limited pool of engineers and evolving machinery to unlock improved construction options and unique buildings. The game plays over five rounds of strategic placement, resource allocation, and timing as players balance construction, technological development, and power delivery.

Moves way too slow for me. I heavily prefer Brass, Indonesia and Food Chain Magnate for this kind of shared resources game. The only way to play faster here is to obtain all resources through contracts and that demands that the correct ones are up for grabs with free worker spots.

Pytania o zasady

Odpowiedzi z instrukcji od asystenta zasad Ludoya.

Do I need The Leeghwater Project expansion to play with 5 players?

Yes — to play with 5 players you must have The Leeghwater Project expansion (p. 1).

What's the difference between placing Engineers in the upper action spaces versus the lower ones?

When you place Engineers in the upper action spaces you choose one of the illustrated actions; when you place them in the lower action spaces you activate a production (p. 1).

How do I set up Headstream Tiles and Neutral Dams on the new map?

Randomly place 5 Headstream Tiles in the designated spaces, and place 3 Neutral Dams as specified (a level 1 Dam in the Mountains, level 2 in the Hills, level 3 in the Plains); you may randomize the Neutral Dams by any method since the base-game setup tiles can't be used (p. 2).

Do I add the new Private Contract tiles into the normal contract piles, and can I use them in all games?

Add the new Private Contract tiles to their respective piles before shuffling the three piles, and the new Contracts can be used in all games from now on (p. 2).

If there's a tie between Headstreams when the Automa must place Water Drops, how is the tie broken?

Use the Reference Map: look at the first letter on the Criteria tile and, if it isn't a tied Headstream, choose the first tied Headstream to the right of the indicated one, wrapping from X back to A (p. 2).

When will Automa place Engineers on the Extra Actions Board?

Automa place Engineers on the Extra Actions Board after Workshop/Machinery Shop/Water Management/Contract Office actions if the corresponding main-board action spaces (left or right) are all occupied, and after a production if the first three top-most action spaces on the left or right of the Turbine Station are already occupied (p. 2).
