Players take on the role of a dreamer traveling a surreal landscape to collect dreamshards from locations like the lair of a Clockwork Golem while avoiding a roaming Nightmare. Each round splits into a Travel phase, where players spend and conserve action points to move, use location powers, and gather shards, and a Creation phase, where collected shards are assembled into a three-dimensional dreamscape tableau. Players score for completed landscape elements according to personal goals and compete over rotating common goals that alter priorities each game. The game combines route-planning, resource collection, and spatial building across six rounds.
