Alea Iacta Est

Players act as rival Caesars who place eight dice each over multiple rounds to gain prestige. Dice are assigned to five buildings with different effects: the Castrum enables conquering provinces, the Forum Romanum recruits patricians to assign to provinces, the Senatus yields secret bonus cards, and the Templum grants direct prestige from the goddess Fortuna. Dice that fail to win in those locations end the round at the Latrina and produce “repete!” chips that allow rerolls or can be traded two-for-one for prestige at game end. Each building has specific placement rules that drive tactical choices. Rounds end when a player places their last die; after the final round all provinces are populated, senate cards are revealed, and scores are totaled.
