The scenario plays as a tense expedition where each level of the descent increases environmental hazards and introduces new, unknown monsters that pursue the party. Players manage investigator decks with new player cards while resolving treacherous encounter cards and scenario-specific challenges. The pack supplies tools for customizing decks and expands the encounter pool to heighten threats and exploration choices during the investigation.
