Arcanists wield elemental forces through willpower and chemical concoctions, while lucid dreamers investigate secrets hidden in imagination. The setting centers on geopolitical tension between rival power blocs and the final, dangerous phases of European imperialism. Characters explore major capitals and contested cities, with an initial focus on Constantinople, where competing alliances, Greek and Turkish ambitions, intrigue, and stolen secrets drive the action.
