This roleplaying adventure volume contains two loosely connected mysteries set in the northern town of Thame and the surrounding forests. The adventurers protect a merchant whose shadow has become a living creature under a dark curse, while investigating an enemy whose identity remains concealed. After winter, the characters join a noble hunting party and discover a plot involving a cursed arrow, an unsuspecting archer, and a planned assassination. They must search Thame and its surroundings for clues, uncover the witches serving demonic powers, and prevent the attack before time runs out.
