A self-proclaimed imperial tax collector arrives in a region beyond the Empire’s borders, claiming authority to conduct a census and collect taxes. With auditors, gnolls, hairdressers, and a mason in tow, he sets out to reclaim the eerie, abandoned stronghold known as the Auctor and squeeze the surrounding towns.
