Forbiddance

A variant rule for d20 fantasy and modern supernatural-horror campaigns that adds uncertainty and complexity to encounters with undead. Exorcism depends on performing the correct rites and acts of purification, along with the cleric’s mindset, courage, faith, and willpower. Only sufficiently holy and strong-willed clerics can turn undead, while lesser priests may be unable to drive them away.
