Set in 3025, this role-playing game takes place amid the wars of the Inner Sphere, where the Successor States compete for control across inhabited worlds. Players create characters who may serve a Great House, work as mercenaries or pirates, operate for ComStar, or pursue careers in intelligence, aerospace combat, arena duels, and more. Using the Cue System, the game focuses on narrative play while providing rules for battles involving BattleMechs, aerospace fighters, tanks, and other military equipment. It also includes guidance for incorporating characters and events into BattleTech Total Warfare and Alpha Strike games.
