Ouroboros Tabletop Roleplaying Engine, Third Iteration
A rules engine for fantasy tabletop roleplaying without a built-in setting. Resolution uses a small pool of d20s, with rolls succeeding by matching or rolling under an attribute. Single rolls can present both dangers and opportunities, allowing players to determine not only whether they succeed but how they succeed. “Breath” tracks encumbrance and weariness, provides stunt points, and supports social actions. The core rules do not include an introduction to roleplaying or procedures for creating gaming situations; separate guides and a fantasy setting are available.
