Piquet: Anchor of Faith
A tabletop wargame covering European warfare and conflicts on the fringes of the Middle East and Asia from 1600 to 1690. Players recreate battles at regimental scale, with an additional rules set for smaller actions involving companies of infantry and troops of cavalry. The rules introduce period formations such as tercios, Swedish brigades, deep lines, caracole cavalry, commanded shot, galloper cavalry, and war wagons. Revised pursuit, command morale, and firing rules represent the limited effect of musketry and the continued importance of pike combat. Army-generation tables and period mechanisms support battles including large English Civil War skirmishes.
