The Pact System
A pact system gives wizards and sorcerers more flexibility in using magic. Wizards can prepare spells for varied uses, while sorcerers can reach beyond their usual list of known spells. Both must reserve slots for Pact Gate spells and meet the costs of joining and developing a pact, which can include skill requirements, commitments, oaths, taboos, or spending gold or influence.
