Players take on the roles of treasure-hunters on a doomed expedition into a hostile, uncanny forest. The group explores, uncovers secrets, and pursues goals while the setting actively resists and reshapes their plans. Gameplay uses collaborative narrative mechanics: players create characters, define relationships and ambitions, and take turns driving scenes that test their resources, sanity, and bonds. The system emphasizes mood and consequence over tactical combat, resolving conflicts and discoveries through structured prompts that escalate tension and reveal the forest’s influence on the party.
