The book expands the occult underground with eight magickal schools, ritual rules, artifacts, nine avatar archetypes, details on otherspaces, paragon places, and a selection of antagonists and potential allies. The material draws on concepts from earlier editions while adding new options for campaigns. Its rules, background, and characters are presented as modular additions that can be accepted, altered, or rejected to suit an individual game.
