A grim backwater town sits in a vast wood beside the Lake of Tears, where relentless rain and grey skies keep travelers moving. With the ferries stopped by something on the river, players explore the town and its surroundings as a mini hexcrawl, working together to investigate the mystery. Locals avoid questions about sounds from beneath the lake and a broken stone circle, while the reclusive witch who leads the town stays on her island. The setting is designed for old-school fantasy systems and can be adapted to other role-playing games.
