Similo: Miti

2019 · Gioco di carte

Similo: Miti

Players cooperate to identify a single secret character from a grid of twelve illustrated portraits. One player knows the secret and plays clue cards from their hand, indicating whether each clue card is similar to or different from the secret. After each clue, the other players eliminate one or more portraits from the display based on the hint. Play continues until the group narrows the field to the correct portrait (win) or the secret is mistakenly removed (loss). Different themed decks can be mixed so the displayed characters and the clue cards come from separate sets, adding variety to deduction.

Domande sulle regole

Risposte tratte dal regolamento dall'assistente per le regole di Ludoya.

Can the Clue Giver talk, gesture, or give hints other than playing clue cards?

No — the Clue Giver cannot speak, make gestures, nor use any other method to communicate; they may only play Clue cards on the table. (rulebook, page 2)

How is the Secret Character chosen and how many cards do we lay out at the start?

The Clue Giver draws 1 card secretly as the Secret Character, then draws 11 more and shuffles the Secret Character among them to create a 12‑card 4×3 grid; the Clue Giver also draws a hand of 5 Clue cards. (rulebook, page 1)

What do vertical and horizontal clue cards mean?

Vertical clues indicate the characters shown have something similar to the Secret Character, while horizontal clues indicate the characters shown have something different. (rulebook, page 2)

How many cards must we remove each round, and what happens if we remove the Secret Character?

The game lasts five rounds: remove 1 card in round 1, 2 in round 2, 3 in round 3, 4 in round 4, and after the fifth clue remove 1 of the final 2; if the Guessers ever remove the Secret Character they immediately lose, and if only the Secret Character remains the group wins. (rulebook, pages 2, 4)

Do Clue cards stay in play after they are played, or are they discarded?

Clue cards that are played are not removed at the end of the round — they remain on the table and stay valid until the end of the game; the Clue Giver also draws one card after playing to refill their hand to five. (rulebook, page 2)

How specific or broad can my clues be — what counts as a similarity or difference?

Clues can be based on anything the Clue Giver chooses (physical details, emotions, professions, ideas, etc.); the similarities or differences are limited only by the Clue Giver’s imagination and the Guessers’ interpretation. (rulebook, page 3)
