Keyflower

Players run rival villages across four seasonal rounds, bidding in a color-based worker auction to acquire and place new village tiles. Workers placed on auction tiles can win the tiles or be used on other players’ tiles to generate resources, skills, transport, or additional workers. Spring, summer and autumn introduce new workers and skill-bearing tiles for iron, stone and wood; in winter players auction tiles from their own holdings that score points for particular resource and worker combinations. The game emphasizes tile placement, worker management and converting skills and resources into victory points.

Can I split a group of outbid workers and put some back behind my screen?

No — when moving outbid workers they must remain together, and workers cannot be moved back behind a player's screen. (page 4)

If I use a tile in another player's village (or a tile that's currently being bid for), where do the resources go?

Resources produced in another player's village or from a tile being bid for are placed on your home tile, while resources produced in your own village are placed on the producing tile. (page 5)

Do worker colours matter when I bid or use a tile — do they have to match?

Yes — all workers used in a bid must be the same colour as any other workers surrounding the tile or already on the tile, and if you use a tile that is being bid for your worker must match the bid colour. (pages 4–5)

If I win more than one turn order tile, do I get the boat contents or boats for each one?

No — in spring/summer/autumn a player who wins multiple turn order tiles only takes the workers/skill tiles from one boat; in winter players take the turn order tiles they won but do not take a second boat tile if they won more than one. (pages 4, 7)

Can I move resources across water or non-road edges to upgrade tiles?

No — resource transport must follow roads; transport (and upgrades) use home or transport tiles' capacity and resources required for an upgrade must be on the target village tile. Resources obtained from outside your village are moved directly to your home tile. (pages 6, 8)

What happens at the end of the season to unsuccessful bids, unbid tiles, and workers on tiles?

Players retrieve workers from unsuccessful bids back behind their screens; village tiles not bid for are removed and any workers on them (including green workers) go into the bag; players who won tiles collect them and winning bid workers are placed into the bag. (page 7)
