Brandubh
A two-player tafl variant based on a small-scale Viking-era board game. One player controls a king and defenders trying to escape to the board edge, while the other fields attackers aiming to capture the king. Play uses asymmetric movement and capture rules on a square grid; pieces move orthogonally and captures occur by surrounding an enemy piece on two opposite sides. Victory comes when the king reaches a designated escape square or when attackers surround and capture the king.
