模拟一场不久的将来横跨台湾海峡的冲突，交战双方为中华人民共和国与中华民国，并可选择加入美国干预及其对地区局势的影响。 玩家指挥地面旅、团和营、空军中队，以及抽象化的海军战斗群；管理移动、战斗、制空与制海权、潜艇和反潜战威胁等级、布雷战及两栖作战。天气、主动权和特种作战会影响每个回合，战斗结算则会考虑部队效率与地形。游戏包含多个场景，从短时的初始进攻到完整战役均有涵盖；既有适合更快游戏节奏的标准规则，也有加入详细空战、打击和特种作战选项的进阶规则；可选的朝鲜半岛联动还会扩展战区。
