Zapotec

Players develop a Mesoamerican valley by building temples, cornfields and villages to generate resources for pyramids, sacrifices and rituals. Each round, players simultaneously choose a card that sets their resource row/column, restricts which map spaces they may build on, and determines turn order. On individual turns, players collect income, spend resources to construct buildings, unlock special abilities, make sacrifices to a shared track, and build pyramids. After each round, players draft new action cards from a central market; one undrafted card becomes the next round’s scoring bonus. After five rounds, points come from pyramids, sacrifice position and ritual cards.
