Fire in the Lake

Four factions vie for control of Vietnam across political, military, and guerrilla fronts: the United States, the Viet Cong, the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, and the North Vietnamese Army. Play proceeds through card-driven operations, event-triggered shifts, and asymmetric faction abilities that model heliborne sweeps, infiltration, conventional offensives, and political maneuvering. Players manage bases (including tunneled sanctuaries), build and degrade trail infrastructure, deploy irregular and regular forces, and resolve inter-allied and intra-government crises. Scenarios range from short to medium length and use a large event deck with pivotal historical moments that can override initiative and alter the course of play.
