This is an intimidating looking game, but it was so much fun. We did the first eight rounds of the "Rush" Scenario, which is the first scenario in the book past the tutorials. The time really just flew by. It was random, but not too random. Full of flavor at every turn. I think the aspect I liked the best was to visualize the characters and scenarios in my head. On paper, it felt like this was everything i wanted from a casual adventure game. Here's the thing though. This game is a huge abstract pile of boards, tokens and cards. There are no dice for combat, but the randomness of the battle cards is randomness just the same. I rarely get to play 2 player games, and while this game isn't strictly 2 player, it is designed with 2 players in mind. Adding more adds little to the experience. With a lengthy setup/breakdown, a dense rules set and unappealing components, I knew I'd never or rarely get it to the table.
