Paranormal Detectives

Players take the role of a recently deceased ghost and a group of paranormal investigators trying to reconstruct the death. One player is the Ghost and receives a full case file describing who, where, why and how the victim died; the other players are Detectives who ask open questions and use asymmetric interaction cards to prompt ghostly answers. The Ghost responds using different occult methods — arranging objects, choosing tarot cards, spelling hints on a talking board, guiding a detective’s hand to draw, and more — to convey information without speaking directly. Detectives use their interaction options and two timed guesses to identify the killer, location, motive, method and weapon; scoring or an all-correct guess determines the outcome.
