Horus Heresy

Due giocatori rievocano la guerra civile culminante tra le forze lealiste e traditrici, combattuta nel palazzo imperiale e nei territori circostanti. Ogni schieramento mette in campo legioni di Space Marine, unità del Caos, Titani, eserciti e personaggi chiave che influenzano il corso della battaglia. I giocatori impartiscono ordini usando un sistema d’iniziativa che richiede pianificazione, poi risolvono i combattimenti con una meccanica basata sulle carte che bilancia i danni crescenti, la loro suddivisione tra attacco e difesa e i poteri specifici delle unità. Gli scenari offrono diverse configurazioni e livelli di difficoltà, incluso uno scenario introduttivo guidato per i nuovi giocatori, mentre una mappa tridimensionale dettagliata e numerose miniature scolpite rappresentano il terreno e le fortificazioni di Terra.

Perfect recreation of Heresy event. A must for every Warhammer 40K fan, and an excellent option for 2 players.

This is a really good implementation of Fantasy Flight game mechanics into a 2 player environment. It has pieces of Twilight Imperium, Chaos in the Old World and Rex all streamlined nicely for 2 players. The game setup time is a bit long for the payoff, but there are a lot of interesting choices to make and just the right amount of randomness (meaning, not too much randomness) as the game is pleasingly diceless. I don't care much for the story, as I'm not invested in the whole Warhammer thing. The components are pretty cool looking through, and I like how the strength of the units is immediately discernible by the base of the mini. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
