Kinfire Council
I giocatori vestono i panni dei membri di un consiglio cittadino incaricato di ricostruire la grande città di Din'Lux e difenderla dalle minacce delle Notti Senza Stelle. A ogni turno, i giocatori mandano i lavoratori a raccogliere risorse, potenziare gli edifici e costruire fari Kinfire nell’area circostante. Il gioco include azioni politiche: i giocatori propongono e votano le politiche cittadine, arrestano i cultisti e risolvono i conflitti di autorità. Un Culto di Altan persistente avanza mentre i giocatori si contendono il potere; un giocatore può vincere favorendo il culto, mentre gli altri devono bilanciare cooperazione e rivalità e mandano un Cercatore ad affrontare le minacce incombenti.

lessgames10,0 Easily my favourite worker placement game comes with a twist and pressure from the cult. I like it a lot because it's very thematic. Manage and build the city with tight resources is the daily pressure for each councillor. Cult can be swingy at times but that's pretty much the challenge that we don't know for sure. Some people complain it's quite random at times but for me it's by design to be that way so it's not samey all the time.

You're a member of the city council in the fictional city of Din’Lux where you'll be building lighthouses while the Cult of Altan tries to hinder your efforts. On your turn you'll be sending out ??♂️ workers and utilizing influence to collect ? resources, fulfill needs, arrest cultists, upgrade your characters and locations, cast ?? votes, and maintain the lighthouses. Your Seeker is allowed to visit more locations, but upgrading each worker will make them each a valuable part of your team. If you wait too long to take out the cultists, they'll grow stronger, so you'll need to work collectively to keep them at bay. At the end of 5 rounds, the winner is the person with the most points, which may even be the Cult! This @incredibledreamstudio game was love at first play! The base game is of great quality (and that artwork!) but we did choose to go for the upgraded components. We don't use the lifted tiers on the board, but it is such a nice touch. This was our first and only experience in the Kinfire universe and likely the closest thing to co-op that we enjoy (besides games with the kids). If lore is your kind of thing, there's a whole book on it. There's so much to do you can't possibly do it all, which keeps us coming back for more.
