The Same Game

Players explore unexpected commonalities between everyday objects by matching an assigned object to another item that shares a specific hidden property while differing in other ways. Setup selects a difficulty and lays out 6–9 category cards (e.g., length, material, price, movement). Each player secretly draws and records a number that points to their private “trap” category, then receives a face-down object card. After viewing their object, each player writes a word naming an object that is as similar as possible in the trap category but as different as possible otherwise. In turn, active players reveal their object and guess while others discuss and progressively reveal categories; the team scores more the longer they avoid revealing the trap category. The game ends after each player has been active the agreed number of times.
