Players lead an expedition across the continent from Missouri to the Pacific, recruiting Native Americans and trappers to complete their Corps of Discovery. On each turn players play combinations of dual-use cards: one card activates while the paired card is temporarily lost, forcing choices between immediate actions and preserving long-term options. New character cards expand a player’s hand and capabilities but slow card recycling, creating a handbuilding tension that reflects managing a growing crew and scarce resources. Racing to be first to reach the Pacific, players balance timing, resource management, and opportunistic use of other players’ positions.

halbert825.0 Essen'13 Eurogame de col·locació de treballadors i gestió de mà on guanya el primer en arribar a una determinada casella. Les cartes es poden fer servir de diferents maneres i el joc penalitza l'acumulació de recursos i el "tortugueo". Té un mecanisme tipus deckbuilding molt interessant, has d'anar millorant la teva mà mitjançant noves cartes d'un stock però sense conservar les que ja no et son útils, ja que això et penalitza. D'aquesta manera sembla que s'evita el atzar en el robament de cartes aleatoriament de una baralla i dona més possibilitats de planificació. Té moltíssimes possibles estrategies i la rejugabilitat ve donada per l'ordre en el que apareixen les cartes (a més de poder variar el recorregut mitjançant tokens de terreny). Actualització després de més partides: tot i el nombre elevat de cartes, després de unes quantes partides es repeteix sempre l'estrategia a seguir per guanyar la partida, agafant només un parell o tres de cartes necesaries i deixant pasar la resta. Més repetitiu del que semblava en un principi...

When I activate a Character card, do I use its printed Strength to do the action?
No — a Character's printed Strength is NOT used to activate its own Action; you must give Strength to the card from another Character card and/or Indian figures (and the Action is then performed as many times as the Strength given). (see page 4)
If I give an Action Strength of 3, do I have to perform the Action three times and take all the benefits?
No — you may use only part (or none) of the Strength given to an Action and you may take only some (or none) of the benefits; using less than the full Strength is allowed. (see page 5)
If I activate the Interpreter and take Indians into my boats, can I immediately use those Indians as Strength for another Action this same turn?
No — the Interpreter is your compulsory Action for the turn, and you cannot perform another Action that same turn (only optional Recruit or Encampment can be done before/after); the Indians you gain are placed in your Boats as part of that Action. (see pages 4 and 7)
Do Indians I place on my Character cards leave my Expedition (are they lost)?
No — Indians placed on Character cards to provide Strength still belong to your Expedition; only Indians placed on Village Action spaces are removed from your Expedition. (see pages 4 and 5)
How do I calculate Time when I set up Camp — which Boats cost Time?
Time spent when camping equals the number of Character cards still in your hand plus the Time costs of your Boats: small Boats (up to three resources) cost no Time, the larger Boat (up to five resources) costs one Time per resource on it, and the Boat that holds only one Indian costs no Time. Take that many Time tokens. (see page 6)
How do Time tokens affect my Scout's movement — do I discard one per space moved?
If you have Time tokens your Scout cannot move normally: each triggered movement on the next visible space discards one Time token, and you cannot move again until all your Time tokens are discarded. (see page 8)
