High Moon

Players drive skeletal cattle from ranches through Death Valley to spooky breweries by building routes with overlapping cards. On a turn a player places a card adjacent to existing tiles and then lays route markers to connect points of interest. Card placement can grant extra route tokens while also potentially awarding tokens to opponents, creating tense trade-offs. Route markers advance on three different spirit tracks or convert into Spirit Tokens that provide one-time powers and allow additional route placement. The game uses very simple rules but emphasizes tight, tactical decisions about placement and token management.

Small-box route building eurogame about guiding your dead-to-the-bone ghost cattles from your ranches to the marrow liquor destileries, craft different liquor brands across a wild-west land that expands on every turn to make points. You can boost your score by guiding the cattles through liquor brand's graveyards improving their tracks and every game also has a random set of extra scoring rules that add variability on strategy without much overhead. Gives that ticket-to-ride feeling but with totally different token placement rules and the expanding map feature makes it less stiff when having to change plans after other player's turn. Very very round game! Bought in Madrid InterOcio fair
