The Game of Life
Players move a peg around a linear board that follows common life milestones—education, career, marriage, home ownership, children and retirement. Movement is determined by spinning a wheel or following space instructions; a few branch points offer short route choices but paths reconverge quickly. Income is gained by collecting money tokens through careers and events, with occasional opportunities for investments and insurance decisions. The first player to finish the course receives a bonus, and the winner is the player holding the most assets at game end. Luck from spins and card draws drives most outcomes, with some variants and older editions offering more complex options.
