玩家将带领彼此竞争的新石器时代部落，探索一片史前次大陆，建立定居村落并扩张领地。 每轮中，所有玩家秘密选择十二张共享角色卡中的一张；翻开后，根据行动顺序决定谁先发动能力并夺取可用领地。不同类型的领地有不同的计分方式（收集、成对、多样性、风险），因此玩家需要在卡牌能力、行动时机和未来机会之间取得平衡。 游戏共进行九轮，考验玩家对手牌的谨慎管理和策略性时机把握，最终以累积最多分数者获胜。
