In a vintage cartoon frontier town, players work together as townsfolk defending their community from waves of Ruffians after the sheriff’s death. Over a series of encounters, the group faces four distinct boss Ruffians that increase in difficulty. Players equip townsfolk with gear, explore locations in Eureka Springs, and play cards to attack, defend, and trigger special effects. Cooperative planning and hand-management determine which strategies counter each Ruffian’s abilities and escalating threats. The campaign-style play emphasizes escalating challenges and character progression as the group aims to overcome the toughest hoodlums and prove themselves worthy of leadership.
