Charterstone

Players take on the roles of citizens chosen to found a new village and develop its charter over a campaign of linked games. Each session uses worker placement and resource management to construct buildings, assign workers, and complete objectives; buildings are added to the shared board as permanent stickers that create new action spaces for all players. Progress unlocks new components, rules, and secrets across twelve games, producing a unique, persistent village board that can be used in subsequent standalone plays.

We had a lot of fun with this. It’s a solid worker-placement game with legacy game twists. You get to add/replace locations for your workers, add/name new cards, unlock new worker types, gradually carry over more cards/wealth between games, and discover the story of the world. We had 5 players and the only thing I would change about our experience would be to skip the automa for the 6th player. The game would have been fine without it and it creates extra work to maintain when you want to be focusing on what other players are doing and planning your next turn(s).

Questions de règles

Réponses tirées du livret par l'assistant de règles de Ludoya.

Can I use another player's personal buildings or workers on my turn?

You may only use buildings and pieces you control unless a building or space is explicitly in The Commons (shared) or the card/text says otherwise; Commons buildings become available to all when unlocked. (pages 3–4)

How do I unlock a crate and what happens when I do?

To unlock a crate you must perform the crate action shown on the board (place the required worker/resources), then open the crate and apply its contents/sticker and follow the crate instructions immediately. (page 4)

What are Influence tokens for and how do I get or spend them?

Influence tokens are part of your personal supply used to pay for or enable certain actions; you gain and spend them according to buildings, actions, or Income rules, and they’re tracked on your player area. (pages 2, 5)

Can I place more than one worker on the same action space?

Generally action spaces can only hold one worker at a time unless the space or a card explicitly allows multiple workers or gives an exception. (page 4)

How do objective cards score?

Objective cards are scored according to the instructions printed on each card and are evaluated at the time or phase the card specifies (follow the objective scoring step on the turn/round sequence). (page 4)

What are Quota and Reputation and how do they affect the end of the campaign?

Quota and Reputation are tracked on the Progress/track: quotas are goals or thresholds and Reputation is your measured standing (victory/advancement) that is affected by meeting quotas, income, and actions; the Progress track and end-of-game conditions determine final outcomes when triggers are met. (page 5)
