Players build a formal palace garden on a personal grid by placing tiles that represent features like rose beds, fountains, pavilions and terraces. On each turn a player plays one of two cards to take a tile from a shared supply, then must place that tile in the matching column and in the row color from which it was taken (or flip and place it elsewhere in the same row or column if needed). After placing a tile a noble may move downward along contiguous placed tiles within its starting column to score points equal to the row reached. The supply is refilled and cards are drawn; the game lasts a fixed number of rounds, and final scoring adds bonuses for completed rows and columns and for nobles positioned in columns shown on personal order cards.

Cool tile placement - puzzle light eurogame. Too multi-solitaire for me, but great design.

This is another tile laying game for 4 by one of my favorite designers Michael Kiesling. Honestly, it felt a bit dull to me. It's another game with color matching, and it rewards placing tiles in the top row and the bottom row of your board differently, which implies there are choices and different routes to take to victory, but as we played, we realized that while in general the game was enjoyable in a sort of basic way, you really don't have a lot of interesting decisions. Each turn you play one of your two cards, and take the tile from the central board that matches that card and place it in the specific space for that tile on your board. Each tile has a picture (indicating the column it goes in), and is sitting on a color (indicating the row it must be placed in). Often, the tile you want isn't in the right spot, or your cards force you to take and place tiles in areas you barely care about. It feels more like the game playing you than you playing the game.

It's a cute game, and it can be fun stealing the piece that your opponent needs. It feels kinda samey already, so I don't imagine that this will stick around too much longer.
