Nemesis: Lockdown

2022 · Fantascienza

Nemesis: Lockdown

Players navigate a secret Martian research base laid out on multiple levels, moving between rooms via stairs and elevators while managing power and lighting across floors. The game mixes cooperative and competitive play: players collect items, perform advanced computer and contingency procedures, craft, run, fight hostile lifeforms, and use a CSS hatch system as they pursue hidden personal objectives that can conflict with the group. Components and mechanics emphasize tense, cinematic play with new characters, a distinct alien species, and expanded board systems that change tactical options and risk assessment.

One play. Really little interaction and randomly roaming about the map until something happens and then everybody scrambles to obtain objective and escape. Pretty fun for the last third of a 3h game… not my cup of tea, absolutely, even if I recognise it's probably well done for what it tries to do. But for me there's really too little interesting interaction between players. You're just trying to beat the game before the others. And the main mechanic of the game is the randomness that generates anxiety and "theme" of the Alien movie suspance. Not a game, more of a story, a movie or an experience together.

Domande sulle regole

Risposte tratte dal regolamento dall'assistente per le regole di Ludoya.

Do I always roll Noise when I move into a room for the first time?

You flip the exploration token when you move into an unexplored room, and you then perform the Noise roll as part of the Movement/Exploration procedure unless a rule exception applies; see Movement & Exploration and Noise rules (pp.16–18).

If a room is occupied by another character or an intruder, do I still flip the exploration token or roll Noise to enter?

You still resolve entering/unexplored-room effects (flip the exploration token) but you do NOT perform the Noise roll when entering a room that is occupied (see pp.16–17).

If an Intruder attack shows 'Larva' or infestation, does a Larva get placed on me immediately and what happens?

When an attack causes a Larva/infest result you place the Larva (and resolve any infestation/contamination effects) as described in Intruder attack resolution and Larva infest rules; this can also trigger contamination/scanning consequences (see pp.22–23).

If I escape in the Rover/Bunker/CSS, do I automatically win or do I still need to fulfill my Objective?

Escaping the facility does not automatically grant victory — at game end you still check win conditions including your Objective, contamination status and any Contingency effects during the final victory check (see pp.10–12).

What happens when power is lost in a Section — how do Darkness and Night Stalker work?

Sections below the power threshold become affected by Darkness and Night Stalker rules, which change visibility and intruder behavior until power is restored; restore Section Power to remove those effects (see p.24).

How do combat dice results and the Advantage die work during shooting or melee?

Combat resolution follows the Encounter & Combat steps and the combat die faces determine hits, misses and special symbols, while the Advantage die provides modifiers/extra effects as specified in the combat resolution rules (see pp.20–21).
