Players take the roles of early Polynesian voyagers exploring an archipelago, moving between islands to recruit Nomads, colonize land, and expand their cultural presence. The game uses dice-placement as workers, blind-revealed Leader cards that are passed to a neighbor, custom-shaped tribe meeples, and resource conversion to exchange goods and develop settlements. Players plan placements, manage dice results, and balance recruitment, colonization, and trade to grow their tribe over the course of the game.
