Deck Box Dungeons

Ein kompaktes Fantasy-Dungeon-Crawler-Spiel, das in eine Deckbox passt und eine Begleit-App nutzt, um Quests zu steuern und Räume aufzudecken. Spieler stellen ihre Abenteurer zusammen, indem sie eine Charakterkarte, eine Ausrüstungskarte und eine Fähigkeitskarte wählen – so entstehen flexible Builds von Dolch-schwingenden Schurken bis zu Magiern, die mit dem Großschwert zaubern. Das Spiel ist kooperativ: Die Spieler erkunden app-gesteuerte Begegnungen, kämpfen mit Würfeln und Karten gegen Monster, verwalten Gegenstände und Runen und arbeiten zusammen, um verschiedene Questziele zu erfüllen. Die App übernimmt Aufbau, Begegnungserstellung und den Fortschritt der Quest für schnellen Spielaufbau und hohen Wiederspielwert; alternativ gibt es Print-and-Play-Quests. Das Spiel ist vor allem für ein bis zwei Spieler ausgelegt, lässt sich mit weiteren Exemplaren aber auf mehr Spieler erweitern.

Who needs a giant box with hundreds of minis that will never get played when instead you can play the same kind of game anywhere at anytime? This is a gem of a dungeon crawl! Quick to set up, quick to play, and fun. Brings back memories of classic dungeon crawl games like Heroquest. While, it is not the most complex game (that is a plus for me), it is more than a mere dice chucker as there are choices to make on when to use items and when to acquire them. The free app also adds much to the experience with randomization of rooms and story text. For those who are wary of app integration there are print-and-play versions of the official missions too. Wish the rules were more clear but revisions and clarifications are happening all the time. In the ratio of size/set-up time to gameplay this more than makes the cut in my book. Can't wait for more content to add to the adventure,
